High Maintenance Costs for Volvo BEVs

Wow, i'm kind of shocked at how high the 40K service cost is for the Volvo XC40 Recharge. I seriously thought EVs were suposed to be cheaper to maintain than ICE vehicles, but this feels like a pretty big surprise. Damn!
Anyone else noticed this or had any experience with maintenance costs for Volvo BEVs?

Is there a specific reason for the higher price, or is this just how things go with luxury EVs in general??

Yeah. I just didnt expect it to be that much more. I figured with EVs having fewer moving parts; the costs would be more predictable…. But I guess with Volvo, you're kind of paying for the whole luxury brand experience on top of the electric tech, right?

Exactly! While EVs have fewer moving parts, the luxury branding adds a premium for specialized components and tech. It’s part of the experience with premium EVs, but it can still surprise you!
