High Maintenance Costs for Volvo BEVs

Wow, i'm kind of shocked at how high the 40K service cost is for the Volvo XC40 Recharge. I seriously thought EVs were suposed to be cheaper to maintain than ICE vehicles, but this feels like a pretty big surprise. Damn!
Anyone else noticed this or had any experience with maintenance costs for Volvo BEVs?

Is there a specific reason for the higher price, or is this just how things go with luxury EVs in general??

It’s surprising, right? Luxury EVs can have higher maintenance costs due to specialized parts and labor. It's not uncommon for premium brands.
