I’ve been researching Volvo and I’m impressed with the safety and hardware, but I’m unsure about their approach to software updates, especially compared to Tesla’s constant OTA improvements. My worry is that, like BMW, Volvo might stop supporting updates after a few years. I’m also hesitant about buying the EX90, being its first model year, though I’m drawn to the idea of placing an order in the next 6 months. Anyone else have thoughts on how Volvo might handle long-term software support?

BMW is BMW and Volvo is Volvo. Being a new model, I am pretty sure they will handle long-term software support. Btw, I am a fan of Volvo because of the safety it provides.

Thanks for the reassurance! Volvo’s safety features are definitely a big draw for me too. I just hope their software support keeps up with the evolving tech. Are you considering the EX90 or another Volvo?

Given that Volvo’s owned by Geely and has a strong partnership in place, it seems likely that we’ll see more consistent updates moving forward.

Good point there. Geely's influence could boost updates, but Volvo’s history with software makes me cautiously optimistic about long-term support.
