Volvo's CEO was on a podcast talking about car tech. He thinks car companies shouldn't try to make their own phone-like systems to compete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. He says it's better for cars to just easily connect to people's phones. He also doesn't think car voice assistants like "Hey Volvo" are that helpful. What do you think? Should cars just use CarPlay and Android Auto? Is "Hey Volvo" a good idea or not?

The real trick is adding value for the customer. "Hey, Volvo" might sound nice, but it doesn’t beat "Hey, Google" or "Hey, Siri." Keep the Volvo system, but do not deny people the sweet freedom of Apple or Android, too.

I get where they’re coming from, but honestly, CarPlay and Android Auto are just way more user-friendly. People want simplicity and familiarity, not another system to learn. As for "Hey Volvo," it’s probably cool in theory, but I doubt it's going to win anyone over when we already have voice assistants that actually work well. Keep it simple, I say!
