Is the XC40 recharge still as well-made as older Volvos?

I used to own a 2003 Volvo V70, and it was solid, reliable, and it held its value. Over the years, I’ve heard there’s a distinction between Volvos made in Sweden versus those made elsewhere. I’m curious if that’s still the case. I’m looking at the XC40 Recharge and really like it, but I’m wondering if it maintains the same level of build quality and durability as the older models. Is anyone else wondering this too? Would love to hear your thoughts..

I’ve been wondering about this too. I used to drive an older Volvo and loved how solid it felt. I’ve read that the XC40 Recharge is built on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture platform, which is supposed to be pretty sturdy.

Same here, the older Volvos had a unique solid feel. I hope the XC40 Recharge lives up to that reputation with its new platform.

I know that the XC40 Rec is manufactured in Belgium, as a matter of fact.
Recently, I read that the vehicles built in China and the U.S. had fewer warranty claims and higher overall quality compared to their European counterparts.
I think the newer models still keep the old the same level of build quality and durability.

I also found this video on YouTube. It can give a perspective.
